Principal Platform Engineer-Core Services
We are seeking our first engineering hire who will lead the development of our most critical service from the ground up.
This backend engineer will be responsible for creating the account system that enables Formation assets to be compliant. They will be responsible for creating and managing the APIs.
Reporting directly to the CTO and working with cross functional teams such as legal and ops. This is an opportunity to come in on the ground floor to build a robust and scalable solution. This will be achieved by implementing the best engineering and platform practices.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the development and deployment of our flagship infrastructure.
- Creating CI/CD pipeline using Github actions
- Working closely with vendors onKYC management (validation, transaction, identity verification).
- Involved in interviewing and mentoring engineers
- Responsible for building out AWS applications and implementing the best practices.
- Establishing the best security practices within AWS
- Create the API from the ground up
- Implement an OAuth 2.0 provider allowing external applications to authenticate users via our system.
- Create documentation for third parties to authenticate users with our API.
- Working with a smart contract engineer to maintain parity between off-chain and on-chain verification states.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of engineering experience developing core services at scale.
- Strong backend experience working with Go
- Experience building, deploying and managing AWS Lambda functions
- Experience designing and developing APIs using AWS API Gateway
- Experience setting up secure API authentication using AWS Cognito, JWT or custom authorizers.
- Experience with DynamoDB (builidng large scale system with DynamoDB tables is a hue plus)
- Familiarity with AWS Secrets Manager, SSM
- Strong IaC skills using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines and deployment infrastructure from the ground up.
- Experience setting up OAuth 2.0 for third party applications (Token Mgmt is a huge plus)
A Plus:
- Worked at an early-stage startup before
- Blockchain experience
- AWS certifications
- Deep understanding of IAM roles
- Familiarity with FAPI (Financial-grade API security)
