Liquid is hiring a
Web3 Head of Business Development and Sales, Japan

Compensation: $36k - $90k *

Location: Tokyo, Tokyo Prefecture, Japan

We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Head of Business Development Japan to help us expand our business in our key target markets in Japan and lead our listings business. You are a strategic and innovative thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset who can come up with ideas that could potentially help drive revenue and elevate Liquid’s brand. You have a strong passion for the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry and already possess a strong network in the industry.


Must have Native level Japanese language skills in addition to Business English.
Note: Candidates must be in Japan or already have the right to work in Japan. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the go-to-market strategy and planning process for our key technologies & markets in Japan and lead the execution of the agreed plan with support from Liquid’s leadership team.
  • Lead Liquid’s listing business through both proactive and reactive sales, identifying key up-and-coming projects that would be accretive to Liquid and our brand.
  • Source prospective clients and partners at all levels through your already established network.
  • Promote the company's services and champion the company at events and webinars.
  • Prepare service and sales contracts while adhering to Liquid’s policies and guidelines.
  • Construct new internal policy and guidelines recommendations for the business as regulation and market dynamics change (ex. fee setting, due diligence process, etc.)

Skills & Experience

  • Must be passionate about cryptocurrencies/digital assets and have extensive knowledge in this sector.
  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant professional experience.
    • Previous work experience in financial services, consulting, or in a strategy role is preferred.
    • Previous experience in internet services or financial services industry including derivatives markets a big plus
    • Previous work experience in a fast-paced industry is preferred.
    • Previous project management experience is a plus.
    • Previous experience leading a team is a plus.

  • Must be fluent in Japanese and English.
  • Excellent presentation and communication (oral & written) skills with the ability to present ideas effectively to a broad audience.
  • Excellent negotiation and issue resolution capabilities with financial and business case development acumen.
  • Ability to build long-term relationships with new and existing external partners. Previous sales or relationship management experience is a plus.
  • A team player who can build relationships and work effectively with cross-functional team members and Liquid’s leadership team.
  • Results-oriented, prioritizes work activities, plans and stays organized in order to meet commitments. Willingness to push themselves hard and learn as they go.
