About Comity Labs
Comity Labs is leveraging blockchain to help communities fund, engage, and reward their members for coordination towards common goals. We are backed by a16z Crypto, Greylock, and several incredible angels.
Role Summary
We’re excited about Blockchain as a new computing paradigm that will enable the creation of new products and organizations. Our engineers will be passionate about leveraging them to help digital communities. To do that, we need to tackle complex and fascinating technical problems around identity, reputation, group coordination, and compensation.
Responsibilities
- Write and test simple, elegant, practical, and composable code.
- Write secure, robust, efficient, and upgradeable smart contracts.
- Model ownership and accountability and demand it from your peers.
About You
- Fluency in Solidity.
- Experience writing specs, implementing tests, and auditing protocol upgrades.
- Knowledge of the EVM, blockchain technology, and crypto protocols.
- Experience with L2 chains and Gnosis Safe is a plus, as is Rust or C++ experience.
- You can “play” on both the blue and red teams and can think critically around what might go wrong and how things behave when the unexpected happen.
- You care about polish and adding value to our users but not perfectionism for perfectionism’s sake.
- You love working collaboratively with different disciplines and learning from others.
- You are an expert who stays curious with a beginner’s mindset.
- You are a thoughtful communicator and collaborator and work to gain consensus with your peers and stakeholders, but you’re not afraid to speak up.
- You want to win, but prefer to win as a team.
- You are proactive and don’t like surprises.
- You are passionate about helping (digital) communities (DAOs, Collectives, etc.).
- You are thoughtful and open about your priorities, goals, and aspirations so we can help you achieve them.
- You have specific passions outside of work. We like interesting people.
- We believe that on average it will take 5+ years of experience in an engineering role to get to the level we want, but we don’t look for average folks so don’t let that stop you.
Benefits and Support
- Comprehensive health benefits.
- Flexible hours and unlimited time off with approval.
- A remote working environment with opportunities for travel to get to know each other.
- 401K.
- We encourage, support, and make time for our team members to invest in side projects and community projects.
