Web3 Engineering Manager

Compensation: $54k - $60k *

Edge & Node’s initial product is The Graph, an indexing protocol for querying networks like Ethereum and IPFS, which ensures open data is always available and easy to access. The Graph is used by thousands of protocols and dapps including Uniswap, Livepeer, Aave, Decentraland, and more. Edge & Node also launched Everest, a decentralized registry with the mission to catalyze the shift to web3, facilitating community-driven curation of projects providing ongoing utility to the crypto space.

The Graph-Node Engineering team is focused on building and maintaining core software components that make The Graph work. We are especially focused on graph-node, an Open Source Rust project that provides the core indexing capabilities of The Graph.

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated technical engineering manager that will support the individuals on this team and build a culture of collaboration and predictable software delivery. This management position requires a strong understanding of growing teams and processes and will be accountable for the overall team’s performance and quality of software.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing and growing a world-class remote engineering team that is solving large-scale indexing challenges in an Open Source environment
  • Collaborating with product management and other core development teams across The Graph ecosystem to deliver improvements to the indexing components
  • Providing coaching and counseling via mentoring, one-on-one meetings, etc.
  • Developing and refining processes that help the team keep moving forward and delivering great software
  • Facilitating transparent and constructive communication between team members
  • Expanding and growing the team culture for healthy and sustainable execution

What We Expect

  • Experience managing, coaching and mentoring software engineering teams of 6 or more people
  • Experience shipping Open Source software that is used in 24/7 environments
  • Experience delivering and managing software engineering processes through an entire SDLC
  • Exposure to large-scale data indexing and processing problems and methodologies
  • Experience recruiting, interviewing and retaining software engineering teams
  • Experience with conveying complex technical ideas in written, verbal and presentational forms
  • Past experience as an engineer building software in a team environment
