We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager with a deep understanding of crypto exchange architecture and operations and a proven track record of success in managing cross-functional, high-performance teams delivering exchange trading-related projects.

This position requires outstanding technical proficiency, professionalism, solid communication, exceptional problem-solving skills, and an eager attitude.

The successful candidate will play a key role in building, operating, and evolving an error-free, low-latency, high capacity, and throughput next-gen Crypto Exchange, its matching engines or back-end software systems that service millions of customers (retail or institutional investors, B2B2C clients, market makers).

The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable in the trading technologies domain, be an effective leader, and have the ability and will to manage project teams building complex solutions in the crypto trading universe.

Strong written and oral communication is necessary as the applicant will frequently interact with the business stakeholders and product teams to achieve PINTU's strategic business goals.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will need to be able to have:

  1. Team Management and Leadership:
    • Build and lead a high-performing engineering team.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment among team members built on trust and companionship.
    • Foster transparent and open communication within the team to ensure alignment with company goals.
    • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
    • Set performance goals and expectations for team members.
    • Address performance issues and implement improvement plans when necessary.
    • Identify opportunities to improve development processes and workflows.
    • Implement best practices for project management, coding standards, and quality assurance.
  2. Project Management:
    • Develop project plans and schedules according to the product and technical roadmap.
    • Ensure efficient resource allocation to meet project goals and deadlines.
    • Identify potential risks and challenges in projects develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks.
    • Monitor and report on project progress, addressing issues and risks as they arise. Ensure the project stakeholders are always up to date.
    • Ensure plans are aligned with other departments in the Company and act as the point of escalation for other departments.
    • Work with upper management to develop and manage budgets and TCO for engineering projects.
  3. Communication:
    • Facilitate clear communication within the team and with other departments.
    • Represent the engineering team in cross-departmental meetings.
    • Collaborate with product management, design, and other departments to align goals and priorities.
    • Ensure seamless integration between engineering and other functional areas.
  4. Recruitment and Hiring:
    • Participate in the recruitment and hiring process for engineering talent.
    • Identify and attract top technical talent to the team.
    • Conduct interviews together with other team members and provide input for hiring decisions.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
  • 10+ years of experience in the software engineering domain
  • 5+ years of experience in managing software engineering teams in TradFi or Crypto trading domain
  • Good understanding of Agile frameworks and fundamentals, specifically Scrum

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience in running the Scrum Nexus framework
  • Experience with low-latency programming
  • Experience with distributed systems
  • Experience with cloud computing
