WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Lead a growing team of IT systems engineers to support hundreds of remote-first employees across dozens of time zones
• Optimize all IT systems for security in every aspect; the Director of IT role reports to our CISO
• Own our SSO, MDM, EDR, and CASB infrastructure
• Manage all hardware distribution and refresh
• Lead employee help desk ticket workflow to support the business
• Work with our CISO to define process SLAs and then meet those SLAs
• Support our ISO 27001 certification effort and work with auditors as necessary (this is not a compliance role–but you should have some familiarity with security certifications / regulatory compliance obligations
• Propose new strategic IT initiatives that support both the business and our extremely high security needs

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• Bachelor’s degree – strictly optional! We care about what you can do, not your degrees or certifications
• 7-10+ years of experience as an enterprise IT leader in an environment of 500-1000+ employees
• Minimum 3+ years in a start-up environment
• Strong track record in a Mac-first environment (We have no Windows and zero Active Directory!)
• Deep familiarity with Okta and Jamf
• Experience as a Slack admin, preferably with Slack Grid
• Familiarity with AWS strongly desired
• Familiarity with a SIEM would be a nice to have
• Track record of success in a cloud-first, cloud-native environment
• Experience ending BYOD phones and provisioning work-issued mobile devices across the enterprise
• Security mindset–at Ava Labs, the IT team reports to Security
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to build strong relationships with key people or organizations
• The ability to lead through influence, not authority
• Passion for crypto/web3 and eagerness to consume latest news and developments
• Thorough attention to detail and high organizational skills
• Comfortable working with low oversight, being proactive and anticipating future needs

Salary Range: $166,200 to $197,400
