Thesis is a cryptocurrency venture studio whose mission is to empower the individual. We seek, fund, and build products and protocols in cryptocurrency and decentralized businesses that enable personal empowerment. Our projects include Keep (now Threshold) Network, a privacy protocol for public blockchains, Fold, for earning Bitcoin on your purchases in the physical and virtual worlds, Saddle, a community owned, open source stablecoin swap protocol, and Tally Ho, a community owned and operated cryptocurrency wallet. Investors in the company include Andreessen Horowitz, Polychain Capital, and Draper Associates, among others. We are a remote-first company, led by founders who have been operating in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space since 2014.
About You:
You will be the first intern on the team! As the first Accounting Intern you will provide the VP of Finance with administrative support to all accounting functions. You’ll be a contributor on our accounting projects and help support the daily finance operations in a remote start up environment.
We are looking to bring in interns to support the Finance and Operations team, so if you have friends, we would love your reference(s) too!
What You’ll Do:
  • Knock out accurate data entry
  • Daily A/P processing, forwarding incoming invoices to our third party vendor to ensure invoices are processed properly on behalf of our 3 business entities
  • Daily A/R functions, manage inbound invoices. Maintain our invoice tracker. Filling and cataloging A/R invoices in the proper folder
  • Download monthly credit card transactions. Manage and sort spending by category. Your bi-weekly credit card reporting will be reviewed by the Finance and Ops teams
  • Lead W-9 file clean-up
  • Be able to articulate and document any process or procedure in writing for future reference
  • Other duties as assigned
Ideally, What You’ll Have:
  • Knowledge of proper grammar, spelling and rules of composition
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with team member in any level of the organization
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Understanding of computers and software systems including Microsoft Office products and the Internet; Must be able to use MS Office, particularly Excel, Word and Google Workspace Apps independently. Introductory experience using Excel functions like creating pivot table and/or sumif functions with raw data. Formal Microsoft office Excel training is a bonus!
  • Be a quick learner and able to demonstrate the ability to follow instructions
  • Be open to problem solving
