Web3 QA Engineer

Compensation: $58k - $66k *

Position Overview:

SIMBA Chain is looking for a talented QA Test Engineer who can demonstrate solid software test experience with CI/CD experience in an Agile environment. A motivated self-starter should have a minimum of 3 years of commercial experience working within a QA team and has experience of following QA process and has applied QA best practices. .

SIMBA’s engineering practice and team is spread across the globe, with remote work as a standard flexible working hours are also standard practice to accommodate teams in different time zones.

A strong predictor for success will be evident in a candidate with expertise in implementing front-end designs, with a solid technical foundation. This individual collaborates well with other team members and stakeholders on all parts of the stack, enthusiastic about blockchain technology now and beyond the existing landscape.

What you’ll be doing at SIMBA:

  • Work with the product owners to capture and understand all project requirements
  • Participate and provide acceptance criteria on Epics and Stories
  • Define the test plan throughout the project lifecycle
  • Develop test matrix that combines manual and automated test coverage and risk analysis to ensure requirements are met and tested
  • Define non-functional testing for project, including performance and load testing
  • Plan internal beta testing by establishing clear entry and exit criteria
  • Write and execute manual test cases
  • Coordinate test passes by estimating effort and allocating tests to team members
  • Monitoring and reporting of quality metrics
  • Test coverage using Sonar and other tools
  • Defect tracking and prioritizing in sprint planning
  • Review project release reports to represent and explain all test activities
  • Conduct project level triage with your team and product owners

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Significant commercial experience of testing enterprise level systems that incorporate web applications - desktop and mobile
  • Experience reporting defects and issues, and creating the relevant documentation and test artifacts using tools such as X Ray or HP ALM
  • Significant experience of one or more of the following:
    • TDD and BDD tools and techniques
    • Performance & load testing
    • Security testing
    • UI & accessibility testing

  • ISQTB Foundation certification in testing
  • Experience of the following would be beneficial:
    • Python
    • Automation framework – Junit or Selenium/Cucumber
    • Jenkins
    • API and web services (REST)
    • XML/JSON
    • Working with large databases

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in maintaining and improving code base quality
  • Experience in CI/CD technologies
  • Non-functional/performance test experience
  • Understanding of blockchain technology will be beneficial
  • Experience with testing Blockchain applications and smart contract APIs
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Passion and enthusiasm for blockchain technologies
