Web3 Systems Administrator, Bermuda

Location: ENG Bermuda, England, United Kingdom

This is a rare invitation to join a small, highly professional entrepreneurial group, with the backing of the most established player in the fast-growing crypto space. We are commencing operations in Bermuda as an extension of our US-based business, and we are looking for a Systems Administrator to join our team.

The Systems Administrator role is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual to join the team at Foundry, a subsidiary of the blockchain industry’s most prolific and active investor, Digital Currency Group.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementation of new or upgraded IT infrastructure
  • Responsible for network administration, configuration, monitoring, and planning
  • Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and application performance

Minimum Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
  • 3-5 years of System Administration, IT Support, or Network Administration
  • System administration and IT certifications in Linux are a plus
  • Experience working with Debian based Linux distributions and open-source software
  • Understanding of containers, including Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
  • Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of systems/networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
  • Strong knowledge of implementation and effective development of IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols.

Preferred Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Interest/Experience in cryptocurrency and/or blockchain
  • Ability to think creatively and work effectively in a startup environment
  • Collaboration mindset
  • Proven documentation skills and experience
  • Desire to learn
