The company is funded by leading institutions including Andreessen Horowitz, GIC, Goldman Sachs, KKR, and Visa, with its Series D valuation over $3 billion. With the evolving landscape of digital threats and an increasing volume of sophisticated attacks by malicious actors, we have a security policy mandating all new hires complete an in-person onboarding process - no exceptions. Security is our foundation and we prioritize physical identity verification and secure IT setup. While our security and IT logistics require physical presence to protect our infrastructure from sophisticated global threats, this move is equally about our Village culture. We believe that a laptop can be shipped, but our culture cannot.

The Finance team is seeking a versatile individual with experience at the intersection of Finance, Digital Assets, and Technology to lead our global automation strategy and support our most important strategic initiatives. In this role, you will own the finance transformation roadmap, translating complex financial needs into scalable, compliant, and audit-ready solutions. You will also serve as the critical link between Accounting, Engineering, and Product to ensure our infrastructure and processes keep pace with rapid growth.

Beyond transformation, you will play a central role in standing up new strategic business initiatives by coordinating the planning and execution of the Finance work required to support them. Because managing cross-functional partners is a key element of the role, building effective working relationships across a wide range of stakeholders is essential. Ultimately, strong oral and written communication skills will be critical to your success.

We have created the Factors of Growth & Impact to help Villagers better measure impact and articulate coaching, feedback, and the rich and rewarding learning that happens while exploring, developing, and mastering the capabilities and contributions within and outside of the Member of Accounting, Finance Transformation and Strategic Initiatives role:

Technical Skills:

  • Own the end-to-end execution of finance transformation and strategic initiative workstreams, translating stakeholder needs into clear requirements, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.
  • Design and deliver scalable, audit-ready solutions by partnering with Engineering and Finance to continuously improve processes, data pipelines, reporting, and controls.

Complexity and Impact of Work:

  • Drive the successful execution of transformation and strategic initiatives by effectively managing workstreams, tracking deliverables, and ensuring the timely completion of all finance-related tasks.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to develop comprehensive execution plans, ensuring seamless alignment across accounting, tax, treasury, and other core finance functions.

Organizational Knowledge:

  • Partner with finance stakeholders, business leads, and cross-functional teams to thoroughly evaluate current-state processes and scope solutions that align with the organization's strategic goals.
  • Become a trusted advisor to the business, supporting its operational scaling by developing a comprehensive understanding of key stakeholder needs.

Communication and Influence:

  • Produce high-quality documentation that clearly communicates transformation and strategic initiative opportunities to executive management for review.
  • Facilitate effective communication across all project phases, proactively informing management of any updates to scope, timelines, and resources.

You may be a fit for this role if you have:

  • A Bachelor's degree, with a CPA certification (or progress toward it) preferred.
  • Fintech industry experience, with a strong preference for a background in the crypto sector.
  • A solid background in crypto along with technical product knowledge.
  • A highly motivated, proactive mindset, backed by strong project management, organizational, and oral/written communication skills.
  • Proven experience supporting operational and accounting processes.
  • Big 4 experience is highly desirable.
  • The ability to partner effectively with business and technology leaders to identify optimal solutions that resolve business process or technology control gaps.
  • The ability to thrive in a hyper-growth environment, taking the initiative to manage through ambiguity and deliver results at a fast pace.

Although not a requirement, bonus points if:

  • Experience working at a crypto exchange.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite, FloQast, and Workiva.
  • Experience working with backend transaction datasets, including data gathering and analysis using tools like SQL queries and/or Python, Looker, and Retool.
  • You were emotionally moved by the soundtrack to Hamilton, which chronicles the founding of a new financial system. :)
