Senior Software Engineer Rust, Python, Java

I build backend and full-stack systems end to end. About 20 years in software: 10+ of them enterprise Java, and the last year building crypto trading systems in Rust and Python.

Over the past year I built two trading systems end to end: a bot that trades price gaps across five crypto exchanges at once, with every exchange integration written by hand, and a system on Binance futures that comes with its own engine for testing strategies against years of market data and searching for the settings that hold up - it has evaluated 17.3 billion parameter combinations and runs about 100x faster than the fastest off-the-shelf framework I compared it against. Alongside them, research across US stocks and crypto on how much of a strategy's result is real and how much is luck.

Before crypto I built Maress, a platform that helps shipping fleets cut fuel use and emissions, from scratch in Java and Spring Boot on PostgreSQL; it reached a Fortune 500 client and was acquired. I ran my own software company for nine years, leading engineering across around 80 projects while staying in the code, and spent seven years on enterprise Java at EPAM for Sony, Lufthansa and Bank of America.

Looking for a senior backend or full-stack role, remote. Rust, Python, Java, TypeScript and React, PostgreSQL.

Lead Software Engineer
Maress
2017 - 2020
Built a fuel-analytics SaaS platform for shipping fleets from scratch - backend, database and web app in Java and Spring Boot on PostgreSQL. Ingested millions of GPS and sensor records streaming in from vessels and kept storage and queries fast as the database grew. Built the analytics: fuel-versus-speed models, per-voyage fuel prediction, fleet and crew benchmarking. Led a small engineering team; the startup was later acquired.

2016 - 2025
Built and ran my own software development company serving clients across Europe, growing it from zero to a 27-person team across two offices and around 80 delivered projects. Led engineering on every project and stayed hands-on with architecture and code. Projects included a crypto betting platform for the 2018 World Cup with an odds pipeline off the Sportmonks API, and an internal CRM integrated with Upwork.

Mother How
2015 - 2016
Built and grew a network of ad-supported content sites for the US market: ten sites end to end plus the SEO behind them. The flagship, motherhow.com, reached around 250,000 visits a month and kept earning for four years after the team moved on. WordPress, PHP, JavaScript.

2009 - 2014
Ran my own network of ad-revenue websites and wrote all of its software. Built a custom framework on top of Drupal to spin up new sites quickly, then shipped 30+ revenue-generating sites on it. Also wrote the internal CRM from scratch in two months, solo: a Java and Play Framework domain-acquisition pipeline for sourcing domains, contacting owners, closing purchases and tracking deals.
Senior Software Engineer
EPAM Systems
2004 - 2011
Enterprise Java on large-scale systems for Sony, Lufthansa and Bank of America, with business trips to the US and Europe. Sony: core features of a product-documentation platform on a team of 27 - search, front-end components, backend and frontend fixes. Lufthansa: ticket-reservation backend, parsing flight and pricing data from airports into internal models. Bank of America: RCSA risk-reporting module with complex SQL and MVC report pages.
