Founder
After graduating from Calcutta Medical College in 2013, I spent close to a year working in the Calcutta Medical College Hospital as a Junior Resident in the departments of Cardiology and Pediatric Surgery. I then went to work for AstraZeneca Pharma as a Medical Science Liaison in the Diabetes segment, working on medico marketing activities to launch Forxiga, the blockbuster drug for treatment of Diabetes. I also started working in parallel on my first venture to launch a private healthcare helpline but didn't get too far. This failure prompted me to find like minded cofounders and learn more about business and management.
In 2015, I was accepted into the flagship two year PGP program at IIM Ahmedabad and completed my PGDM course in 2017. Upon graduating. I set about building my first company Reculta, to organise the fragmented space of university hiring, more commonly referred to as 'campus placements' in India. We pivoted in 2019 to PickMywork, a gig work marketplace enabling the listing, fulfilment and payments services for sales related gigs.
Covid, operational breakeven, $1 million funding, 100 clients and several adventures later, I moved back to corporate in 2023 and went to work for Zolve, a cross border Neobank Fintech, which is building non-discriminatory access to financial services for those moving across borders. The CEO tasked me with building the Remittance and NRI Banking business for Zolve.
Starting April 2024, I have been working as an Independent Consultant for a diverse set of clients helping them with various business and organisational challenges, from strategy and sales to recruitment and partnerships.
One of my most enduring traits has been my ability to gain the trust of others to put me into leadership positions. Beginning with my selection as the school head boy, to becoming the face of a student organisation and contesting student union elections on their ticket during my undergraduate days at Calcutta Medical College (incidentally I lost all four elections in four years), to being elected as the Batch Representative and later the Recruitment Secretary at IIM Ahmedabad during my MBA (won two elections less than a year apart). The same trend continued with winning the trust of my co-founders and investors, early employees and clients during my 6 years as a founder. This ability to build trust and deliver continued to help me as I joined the CEO's office at Zolve and currently as I continue to problem solve with founders and business owners helping them navigate business and organisational challenges.
