Senior backend engineer, 7 years in production. Node.js and TypeScript throughout, mostly NestJS, working fully remotely the entire time. What I build: systems where money moves and the ledger has to reconcile. The largest is a multi-tenant whitelabel betting platform on NestJS and Fastify - 176 modules, around 3,275 commits, real-time events over Socket.io with Redis, RabbitMQ and Bull underneath, real balances and real settlement. I have also owned payment integrations end to end, Stripe and PayPal, webhooks and reconciliation included, which is where idempotency and rounding stop being theory and become an incident report. Code rather than claims. Two public repositories: - museo-api (github.com/armancj/museo-api): NestJS 11 and MongoDB, 519 source files, 34 test suites that run against real infrastructure in Docker instead of mocks. The function worth opening is applyTerritorialFilters(), which composes role and territory scoping onto the query builder straight from the JWT payload, so authorisation is enforced at the query layer and cannot be bypassed downstream. - d-gala-api (github.com/armancj/d-gala-api): NestJS with PostgreSQL and Prisma, 16 models, Elasticsearch for full-text search, MinIO for object storage, four services in Docker Compose. Second stack: Java with Spring Boot 3, JPA/Hibernate, JUnit, Mockito and Testcontainers. I also self-manage my own infrastructure on Proxmox with nginx, PM2 and Docker, so deployment and uptime are not somebody else's problem to me. Where I am: Cuba, UTC-4 - three hours from San Francisco and a full working-day overlap with the Americas. I work as an independent contractor, invoicing, with settlement in USDT or USDC. Seven years remote; I have never worked any other way. What I do not have, so that nobody spends a call finding out: no Rust in production, and no on-chain components yet - no smart contracts, no RPC or explorer work. Everything above that layer, the services, the APIs, the data pipelines, the database work and the authorisation, is what I have been doing for seven years.
