A pioneer in distributed systems and an early adopter of Rust, a language I have been actively using and contributing to since before 2017. My career is defined by designing critical infrastructure where performance and security are non-negotiable, highlighted by my roles as CTO of Stampery and Founder of Witnet. During this latest stage, I led the journey from whitepaper to mainnet launch of a Layer-1 oracle protocol built entirely from scratch. Its core implementation, witnet-rust, exceeds 110,000 lines of code, consolidating my expertise in consensus architectures and large-scale P2P networks.

This technical execution capability in startups is backed by a solid foundation of rigorous technical research. I am the co-inventor of a fundamental blockchain technology patent that serves as a state-of-the-art reference in the intellectual property developments of global leaders in computing, finance, and network infrastructure. My work is cited in the cutting-edge research of corporations such as Amazon, IBM, Tencent, JPMorgan Chase, Alibaba, PayPal, Oracle, NTT, Mastercard, Huawei, and Baidu, as well as firms like Seagate, Sony, HP, Verizon, Xerox, Nokia, and General Electric.

This approach is complemented by the publication of several technical whitepapers and a constant commitment to the Rust Open Source ecosystem through libraries such as limits-rs, vrf-rs, witnet-bn, and protobuf-convert. Furthermore, I have had the privilege of sharing these insights as a Professor of Distributed Systems at the Universidad Europea de Madrid and as a speaker at the most demanding industry forums, including Devcon, EthCC, Web3 Summit, CogX, and D1Conf.

The challenge was to design a trustless, decentralized Layer-1 oracle protocol from scratch, ready to support hundreds of high-value data feeds and secure >$100M TVLs across the DeFi ecosystem on 50+ L1 and L2 blockchains. I authored the whitepaper and served as the primary architect for the witnet-rust core implementation, now representing over 110k lines of production-grade Rust code. Led the full roadmap to a stable mainnet, ensuring near 100% uptime since its launch in 2020. Engineered custom P2P networking layers and consensus mechanisms built for extreme Byzantine fault tolerance. Built and mentored a high-performance engineering team, establishing Rust and Solidity development standards that became a benchmark for the project’s longevity.

The mission was to create a scalable method for data integrity and blockchain anchoring way before any industry standards existed. I led the engineering of one of the world's first commercial blockchain anchoring services, processing millions of hashes per second across multiple chains. Co-invented and implemented the core technology for blockchain-based data notarization, which my team revealed on stage at TechCrunch Disrupt Battlefield 2015.
