I am an Frontend Engineer who is interested in being a Team Lead. I am most comfortable working
with Angular and Typescript, however, I am open to working with Python, Javascript, React or any modern languages / tech stacks.

I would appreciate a friendly company culture and the opportunity to keep learning. I am based in Cape Town and am open to relocation if it is based outside South Africa.

I joined Luno in December 2019. Since then I've been promoted twice, reaching Senior Frontend Engineer. In mid 2022 I joined a Leadership Team (one of three members) that help lead and guide the Frontend Web Competency. In early 2022 I was chosen to be my cross functional development team's driver, which means that I manage our responsibilities and groom all of our tasks before assigning them. My team consists of backend, Android, Web and iOS devs among others. 

From 2020 to mid 2022 my team managed the feature for the instant buying and selling of cryptocurrencies (distinct from the trading of cryptocurrencies on the exchange). This is a critical cornerstone of the product and should never experience downtime. We integrated with third party payment providers and built additional features such as Repeat Buy. 

Since mid 2022 I led the team that provides features that yield growth to the customers' cryptocurrency, such as savings products. 

Throughout my tenure we ensured good unit test coverage, adopted e2e testing with Cypress and enforced code quality rules. I made sure that the web competency stays on track and screened most new web developers before hiring. I screened 70 candidates in the years 2021~2022
