I've worked professionally as a full-stack web-developer for 13 years, having been self-employed for the last 10 of those. My educational background is in the humanities: Bachelor of Music and Minor in Philosophy, so all of my programming skills are self-taught. I try to supplement this educational gap reading books in the computer science field, but I consider the act of programming an art form which is best learned and refined by practice.
I've kept close track of the development of cryptocurrency over the last decade, and have built various prototypes with Solidity in a non-professional capacity. I hope to transition into this space full-time. The world doesn't need of another e-commerce store (my current work), and I would rather focus my mind and energy creating the future on a blockchain.
I've decided to pivot away from my LLC, and seek employment from an established startup in the space. I am hoping to surround myself with other passionate, talented programmers and build something great. DM me if that is your company.

Experience
Full-stack Developer
Datacomb 2019 - 2025
After working as a sole-proprietor for 5 years, I decided to formalize it into an LLC, and founded Datacomb. During this period, I refined my Shopify app skills, mastering Docker and docker compose for app deployment, and transitioning into GraphQL for more performant interactions with Shopify. Most of my front-ends were built in React JS at this point, with Ruby on Rails as the backend.
Full-stack developer
Self-Employed 2014 - 2019
In this period, I broke out on my own doing custom Shopify themes and eventually Shopify apps. In this period, I dove deep into Ruby on Rails, and picked up all the backend skills I needed to roll my own web apps from scratch, working with Shopify's API's to deliver business-critical functionality for e-commerce stores. I also continue to do front-end work.
Web Developer
Zeekee Interactive 2013 - 2014
This business no longer exists, but was a digital agency in the Birmingham, AL region. They had me in a hamster wheel ripping out custom html / javascript / css / php from photoshop mockups. They had a (very bad) in-house CMS written in PHP which I had to debug from time to time. This job taught me how to flesh out a responsive website from nearly any design in a zip. Was first introduced to twitter bootstrap and equivalent frameworks in this period
Front-end Web Developer
Chapterspot 2012 - 2013
I was tasked with building out front-ends using Ignite PHP, including custom html / javascript. Was my first opportunity to sink my teeth into web application development in general.
