Dave has worked in Web3 and metaverse-related activities since 2019 when he joined Decentraland as its Marketing & Communications Lead. Since then he has handled business development and partnership activities for blockchain gaming marketplace, Parcel, augmented reality platform, OVER, and Web3 creative agency, Verse Digital. 

Dave has 20+ years experience in advertising, publishing, content and corporate communications, working for the likes of Penguin, BBC, LEGO, IKEA, SEGA, ITV, Sony, Warner Bros, Deep Silver, Ubisoft, Capcom, Publicis Sapient and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, among others. He's also a published author, with titles across licensed fiction and non-fiction.

Spearheaded creation of a directory of creative builders in virtual and augmented reality spaces to connect with landowners and facilitate developments in the metaverse. An integral part of the launch team, I led comms and marketing strategy for the decentralised virtual world, running the Twitter and Instagram accounts, blog posts and weekly newsletters – educating audiences about the $MANA token, marketplace, events and platform updates. Under my guidance, Decentraland’s Twitter and Instagram accounts both grew from low thousands to over 100k followers. Content and virtual event development for Dow Jones, Coca-Cola, Sotheby’s, Walmart and others. Spokesperson on physical and virtual event panels and media relations, interviewed by the New York Times, Euronews, Wall Street Journal, NBC and others.

Developed a fully realised digital banking platform – XBank – used globally as Publicis Sapient's primary client demonstration tool. Integrated web, video, and podcast content built around the brand narrative. Still actively used by the Publicis Sapient Financial Services team. Conceived and launched the Global Banking Benchmark Study, an annual financial services research programme that established Publicis Sapient as a credible voice in the digital transformation of financial services. I worked with the Longitude research team at the Financial Times to define and create the research pool and devise the study framework. Both XBank and the Banking Benchmark Study are still in use. Ghostwrote C-level thought leadership articles.
