Product Manager & Creative Technologist
I’m a self-taught creative technologist and an agile generalist with a particular interest in systemic innovation and frontier technologies. I’m looking for a creative, open-minded, truly collaborative team responsible for producing meaningful work.
My unique skill is the ability to quickly understand how systems work, may be improved, integrated with, and leveraged for alternative purposes. I can work with engineers, designers, and business owners, and have extensive international, corporate experience as well as with startups as a founder and as an early employee. I'm passionate about applying the latest technologies to improve the health and wellness of the planet and all its inhabitants.
Over the past 20+ years, I’ve joined early stage startups as a self-taught programmer; analyzed the successful and unsuccessful uses of emerging technologies across many industries in order to propose and develop products and processes for use in education; created a dozen functional education prototypes using virtual reality, affective computing, robotics, and more; managed relationships with incubators and entrepreneurs in New York, Boston, and Washington, DC; trained hundreds of colleagues in rapid prototyping; served as director of an innovation community of over 250 coworkers; presented at dozens of local, national, and international conferences; co-hosted five episodes of The EdTech Podcast; represented Pearson, the world’s largest education company, while meeting with university administrators and government officials in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Colombia, and Sweden; established and maintained connections with a wide range of innovative small businesses for potential collaboration and partnership; managed the merger of two corporate IT teams for a major insurance company in Australia; and started my own, bootstrapped company, which I ran for three years, building several mobile-first, location-based applications, from initial concept through design, development, user testing, release, sales, maintenance, and shutdown.
I currently provide consulting services to international companies in the green energy, smart cities, and transportation industries looking to expand into the US, specifically through NYC. Additionally, I contribute to a Seoul-based newsletter on digital transformation, including Web3 technologies.
