I currently run a small business called Bitroots to support miners who have a meaningful, positive impact on society. Our technology enables anyone to buy clean Bitcoin from certified sustainable miners, and trade it on the blockchain.

I believe that making financial markets more accessible is one of the most effective ways to reduce poverty. We can do this without compromising long-term environmental goals.

Before Bitroots, I led a research group focused on scaling Bitcoin and enhancing its underlying technology. I enjoy academic writing and have published 18 papers in blockchain, cryptography, mathematics and string theory. I review articles and organise workshops on behalf of the IEEE, and regularly write thought leadership blogs. I am a co-inventor of around 30 patents.

I'm great at bridging the gap between technical teams and senior management. I'm looking for interesting roles in product development / cryptography / research / protocol development / white paper writing / patent drafting / wallet design. Full-time or part-time available.
