As a Senior QA Engineer at Binance, I was part of a globally distributed team of engineers, ensuring the highest quality standards for Binance's products and services. I mastered working cross-culturally, being the only engineer from New Zealand, and I consistently exceeded expectations and received top performance ratings. I also built a strong understanding of blockchain technologies and their potential to revolutionize society. Actively engaging with the local community, I hosted events at my local University and served as Treasurer and then Vice President of the Universities Crypto Society. As the Lead Software Engineer for Testing and a member of the engineering leadership team, I provided professional and technical guidance for internal engineers and data scientists, I developed and monitored completion of departmental KPIs, and worked with external stakeholders and international teams on various initiatives. I also worked with other departments and senior leaders to formulate strategies and identify emerging trends, and was responsible for managing the development of software engineers. Additionally, I was involved in recruitment, refining recruitment processes, and conducting performance and pay reviews for engineers, as well as direct management of a team of Software Engineers, Test Engineers and Data Scientists. I also played roles in triaging high-impact incidents and developing frameworks for test practices.

As a Senior Test Engineer, I mentored junior and intermediate staff, developed and executed tests against features, and maintained the company-wide test automation. I was responsible for leading deployments across various applications and liaising with external parties, such as integration partners. I also conducted user experience interviews and street testing and explored emerging technologies for the wider test community.

As an Intermediate Test Engineer, I worked in an agile scrum team and employed different testing methods against features, including front-end user interface testing, regression testing, and system testing. I was known as a reliable go-to person for explaining technical details to business stakeholders and leaders. I also served as a scrum master for the team, managed deployments of applications, and conducted backend testing of databases and APIs.

Test & Support Analyst (Feb 2015 – Sept 2015): Conducted acceptance testing and provided user support and training. Intermediate Test Analyst (Sept 2015 – April 2018): Performed backend API testing, maintained automation suites, and led stakeholder demos. Scrum Master (Dec 2016 – April 2018): Facilitated agile ceremonies, planned future work, and removed impediments to ensure smooth sprints.
