When I was seven, my favorite book was The Carrot Seed by Ruth Krauss. It's a children's book about a boy that plants a carrot seed, and his family tells him (ad nauseam) "it won't come up."
The boy doesn't argue and waters the carrot seed every day. In the end, he's rewarded with a big juicy carrot as he knew he would be. The lesson in this book has always been important to me. Despite the naysayers, never give up on what you truly believe. It's your belief and passion that will guide you through the seemingly impossible moments.
I'm passionate about great ideas that serve the public good. The potential of web3 technology is addicting. I often find myself lost in reading about the various technologies that power web3. For fun, I'll build a simple, smart contract on the blockchain with Solidity. Every day I read about current events in the industry. Some of my favorite YouTube channels are Bankless, Coin Bureau, InvestAnswers, and Benjamin Cowen. Projects I follow closely are Ethereum, Layer 2 Rollups, and DAO development.
One of the highlights was attending Goldman Sach's 10,000 Small Business program, where I met a great group of like-minded Entrepreneurs.
As CEO of The Mac Support Store, I like to be hands-on with day-to-day operations. I'm glad our 30k customers voted us Best of Brooklyn in 2019. For the last seventeen years, I'm pleased they've appreciated our services to help them save money while doing our part together to reduce electronic waste. I'm proud of what we accomplished together.
I play the guitar and drums, do local outings with my family, exercise, and meditate in my spare time. My friends say my gift is to teach complex subjects. I've done this with the Mac in the 1980s, the early public Internet in the 1990s, and now with web3 technology. It's my new passion but not sure which direction I like best. Yet.
I'm confident I could make a meaningful contribution to web3. I would excel as a business consultant, fundamental analyst, or technical project coordinator.
To be continued….as always.
