I am an experienced data science people leader with a proven record of delivering solutions to complex real-world business problems; having been in academia for a number of years, I am exceptionally good at explaining complex technical ideas in terms that everyone in the business can understand. 

I mutated into a data scientist when I realised I could make money with my skillset: given my background in science and engineering, I have an excellent understanding of mathematics and statistics, as well as extensive experience writing code. 

Besides the necessary technical acumen, I believe that a key element in the success of any data science project is a thorough understanding of the business problem that is being addressed: although I am a technical person by training, I have a good understanding of the business ecosystem. Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to lead teams in different settings, and therefore I have developed outstanding leadership and organisational skills that have allowed me to contribute successfully to business outcomes in all the positions I have held. Lastly, in all the positions I have held as a data scientist I have had to liaise with all stakeholders; sometimes this has implied persuading them about the benefits that AI could bring to their business.
