The position also supervised one Customer Success Manager and an individual strategic partner based in South Africa. • Was responsible for business in no fewer than 15 named accounts in East and Southern Africa, primarily targeting the English-speaking countries of Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, Malawi and Zambia. • Working closely with Customer Success Managers, this was a business development role with responsibilities in sales opportunities identification, qualification, forecasting and closure, working with wider product and presales teams. • Successfully negotiated and signed up two partners in Southern Africa. • Helped secure shortlist for the company for major digital insurance opportunity for multiple sub-Sahara African countries for ABSA.

• Position reported to Vice President, Sub-Sahara Africa, based in Johannesburg and supervised the regional Technical Support Manager. • Role had a EUR 4.6M target with responsibilities to promote secure, digitized, future-proof strategies in transaction banking, payments, customer acquisition and customer management. • Played key role in contracting a strategic local partner, Ellams Products Limited, a value chain partner that enables IDEMIA to be more competitive in the market. • Responsibility was for 25 banking customers in at least ten countries, viz. Kenya, Somalia, Mauritius, Djibouti, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Mozambique, Botswana. Zambia and Malawi. • In varying years, helped secure new 3-year contracts with the following banks, each contract worth at least US$ 2.7M for three years: BancABC Atlas Mara Group, Co-operative Bank of Kenya Ltd, NMB Malawi, FMB Holdings and Zanaco Bank PLC. • Was part of team that worked on and won an RFP for card supply and personalization management by a global bank (Standard Chartered Bank) that has operations in East Africa. • Won in 2019 the first phase of a deal worth EUR 65,000 with Zanaco Bank PLC for wearable payment technologies, the first of this kind of technology in Sub-Sahara Africa, using mini-FOBs from IDEMIA. • Also held responsibilities of Director of IDEMIA Identity and Security France, a locally incorporated company that held contracts with Government and Quasi-Government institutions, namely the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission respectively.

• Stint among the most colourful in my career, and indeed among net new named account sales executives in my time. • Helped grow SAP’s install-base from one company (Housing Finance Group) at the time of joining to several client wins, viz. Madison Insurance, NMB Tanzania, KCB Group, Co-operative Bank of Kenya, Centenary Bank Uganda, Equity Bank and NCBA. Was also responsible for other accounts, among them BPR Rwanda (now KCB Rwanda), CRDB Tanzania, Central Bank of Kenya and Stanbic Bank Kenya. • Working with wider team, bagged the first ever cloud HR software deal (SuccessFactors) of any enterprise customer in East Africa at a Tier 1 bank in Kenya. Contract also included procurement of other HR and finance reporting modules. • Also won the first S4HANA (at the time SAP’s latest digital ERP platform) deal in East Africa for a Tier 1 listed bank. • Competitively won various solution deals in a Tier 2 insurer, Tier 2 bank in Uganda and a listed tier 1 bank in Tanzania. The latter, a EUR 700K data warehousing and Business Intelligence platform deal, involved a famous competitor replacement that was celebrated as a feat. • Territory experience initially covered Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda but with effect from September 2015, was limited to Kenya.
