Experience
Teaching Assistant and Outreach
Cornell University 2020 - 2021
Extensive teaching, tutoring, mentoring, and presenting experience for both technical and non-technical audiences. Led week-long intensive Python bootcamps in the summers for groups of ~15 veteran undergraduate students which culminated in their own group projects applying their coding skills to real physics problems.
Post-Baccalaureate Research Fellowship
Los Alamos National Laboratory 2019 - 2020
Modified existing modeling and analysis tools to accommodate mission concept standards and generated HEALPix predictive sky maps for the gamma-ray astronomy mission concept LOX (Lunar Occultation eXplorer). Extracted observational signatures using dimensionality reduction techniques (e.g. t-SNE, PCA) from a suite of 5000 supernovae simulations useful to future gamma-ray missions.
National Science Foundation Research Scholar
Niels Bohr Institute, Copenhagen, Denmark 2019 - 2019
Collaborated with international colleagues on seminars, journal clubs, and workshops. Wrote an algorithm to track the dynamics of galaxies in an early universe simulation dataset which enabled me to further analyze the evolving properties of 300 galaxies, such as gas fraction and mergers. Presented research at the annual American Astronomical Society conference (3000+ attendees).
