Laura is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, with nine years’ experience in dispute resolution, with a particular focus on international arbitration matters. Her practice includes advising on dispute strategy and case development, as well as extensive legal drafting, including commercial contracts and agreements, legal opinions, pleadings and written submissions. She has represented clients and served as Tribunal Secretary in international arbitrations under the LCIA, DIFC-LCIA, UNCITRAL ad hoc and FOSFA Rules.

Laura also provides training on international arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. She was recently part of the JMiles team that trained Kenya’s Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission on different forms of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. She has also been invited to speak on various aspects of domestic and international arbitration at international arbitration conferences and forums.

Laura is involved in advisory work on a wide range of legal matters. Notably, she was part of the expert inter-governmental committee, in conjunction with the Business Registration Service of Kenya, that drafted the Companies (Beneficial Ownership Information) Regulations, which were passed into law in 2020. She also conducted, on behalf of the London Stock Exchange and Kenya’s Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, a gap analysis comparing Kenyan legislation against internationally recognised standards on ESG matters.

Currently, Laura sits as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration, representing the Law Society of Kenya. She previously served as a member of the Law Society of Kenya’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee from 2022 to 2024 and the Law Society of Kenya’s Taskforce for Policy and Legal Reforms.

Laura was recognised as one of the Top 40 Women featured by the British Chamber of Commerce Kenya in its Women in Leadership 2025 Chapter, recognising women making a significant impact in their respective fields.  I am interested in legal work focused on legal drafting, strategic legal advice and advisory support. This includes drafting and reviewing commercial contracts and agreements, preparing legal opinions and other legal documentation, legal research and analysis, and providing strategic advice on complex commercial and dispute-related matters.
