As a Senior DevOps Engineer at HSBC under the CTO department, I am responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale automation solutions across multiple middleware platforms and environments. My role primarily focuses on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using Ansible, Puppet, and Jenkins pipelines written in Groovy DSL, as well as ensuring deployment consistency across hybrid cloud platforms such as AWS and HSBC’s internal cloud (HIC). Collaborating closely with global engineering teams from Hong Kong, India, and the United Kingdom, I actively support CI/CD pipeline development, system monitoring through ELK/Splunk, and configuration management in both Linux and containerized environments. My day-to-day responsibilities include developing automation scripts, maintaining low-code front-end portals for operation workflows, and resolving incidents through ServiceNow while documenting procedures in Confluence. Being bilingual in English and Mandarin also enables me to effectively bridge communication between international DevOps teams and local engineering staff, ensuring smooth project delivery and operational excellence within a highly regulated banking infrastructure.
