As the lead frontend engineer at Zero44, I own the entire user-facing layer of a maritime carbon compliance SaaS platform used by shipping operators across Europe. My responsibilities span translating complex regulatory frameworks — including EU ETS, FuelEU Maritime, and CII ratings into intuitive, data-dense interfaces that allow fleet managers to monitor vessel compliance, run compliance scenarios, manage pooling strategies, and generate reports. I drive frontend architecture decisions, define component standards, write detailed technical stories for the team, and ensure tight collaboration with the backend to align on data contracts and compliance logic. Beyond feature delivery, I oversee the quality and consistency of the product experience across the full compliance workflow, from real-time vessel monitoring through to penalty calculations and strategy finalization.
