Writer, Marketer, Brand Builder, Culture Shifter, Editor, Content Strategy
My name is Michelle Maisto, and I work in creative spaces — marketing, branding, writing, and event, site and program creation. I have an MFA in writing from Columbia University and wrote a memoir that was published by Random House in the U.S. and other publishers on two other continents.
I love a goal, a timeline and a motivated team. I’m organized, purpose driven and pro-active by nature.
While I spent my early career as a tech journalist, I've spent the last seven years in coffee. It's an industry that touches every relevant global topic, from supply chains and climate change to immigration, retail and gender equity. Among other responsibilities, I’m part of a team promoting an initiative to empower 300,000 coffee farmers to find pathways out of poverty by 2030; I’m driving an industry partnership aiming to help clients recycle 40+ metric tons of plastic each year; and I developed and lead a racial equity program encouraging greater diversity in the U.S. coffee industry.
I’m deeply interested in the democratizing capabilities of web 3 and am eager to become part of this world — ideally, eventually, with a company at the intersection of next-generation technologies and an aggressively social or pro-environment agenda.
