Research Scientist

Ever wondered how criminals exploit the trust between telecom operators to commit fraud?

I've spent the last 10+ years answering that question—and building solutions.

From designing a <$20 IMSI catcher detector to creating a blockchain oracle that detects cross-operator fraud 12x faster than traditional methods, my mission is clear: make telecommunications infrastructure secure, resilient, and trustworthy.

📡 THE JOURNEY
Started in 2010 researching GSM vulnerabilities. Discovered how easy it was to intercept SMS, clone SIM cards, and track users with basic hardware. Instead of just publishing findings, I built defenses.

Today, as Founder of PT NOZ Berkarya Indonesia, I lead projects that protect millions:
- Emergency BTS systems deployed in national disaster simulations
- SIEM pipelines detecting fraud in real-time across cellular networks
- Web3 Network Behavior Oracle - bringing blockchain trust to telecom
- Initiated and led GreenGrid Telco, a conceptual research project exploring
energy-aware and behavior-driven optimization models for telecom infrastructure, focusing on sustainability, efficiency, and resilient network
operations.

  • Research status: conceptual design and simulation
  • GitHub: https://github.com/noz-co-id/Greengrid-telco

- Co-founded and contributed to Neutral Trust Foundation, an open research initiative investigating
neutral, trust-minimized architectures for digital and telecom infrastructure governance,
combining principles of network neutrality, cryptographic trust, and decentralized validation.

  • Research status: early-stage research and conceptual framework
  • GitHub: https://github.com/peduli-or-id/neutral-trust-foundation

- Developed Network Behavior Patterns, a research-oriented repository for collecting, modeling, and
documenting aggregated telecom and network behavior patterns as a foundation for anomaly
detection, SIEM enrichment, and behavior-based security analytics.

  • Scope: aggregated behavior data, pattern modeling, and simulation

🔬 WHAT MAKES MY WORK UNIQUE

I don't just theorize—I build. Every paper I publish comes with working code github. Every vulnerability I discover includes a detection mechanism. Every framework I design is open-source.

Recent example: Web3 Network Behavior Oracle (NBO): A Decentralized Framework for Privacy-Preserving Telco Security - a complete architecture for cross-operator fraud detection using zero-knowledge proofs. Not just ideas—deployable smart contracts, consensus algorithms, and integration guides.

🎯 AREAS OF IMPACT

  • Fraud Prevention: Real-time behavioral analysis across 2G-5G networks
  • Emergency Response: Portable communication systems for disaster zones
  • Privacy Tech: Zero-knowledge proofs for GDPR-compliant intelligence sharing
  • Open Source: Contributing to OpenBTS, Osmocom, Open5GS communities

    🏆 RECOGNITION
  • 5+ publications with Infosec Institute
  • Regular speaker at IDSECCONF (Indonesia's premier security conference)
  • GitHub projects used by researchers and operators globally
  • Pioneered NFC security research in Indonesia (IDSECCONF 2014)

💭 PHILOSOPHY

"The best contributions aren't the ones we build alone, but the ideas we release into the world for others to amplify, iterate, and improve."

That's why I collaborate with AI systems ChatGPT, DeepSeek to push boundaries beyond individual capacity. The Web3 NBO whitepaper? Born from philosophical discussions about collective intelligence.

🌏 COMMITTED TO SDG 9
Building resilient digital infrastructure isn't just my job—it's my contribution to sustainable development.
