Senior Institutional Sales

I have spent over 20 years in TradFi, as a Responsible Officer. I managed large, regional Sales & Trading teams in Asia Pacific, and helped build product platforms. I've worked as a senior manager, overseeing sales & trading teams and building cross-border revenue streams within cash equities, securities financing, and custody. 

I am now looking to transition into crypto.

Crypto Passion: I’ve been a crypto investor since 2016. I started by running 20 ASIC mining rigs in a bitcoin mining pool in Guangzhou, China (bitcoin was trading in the $400 range at that time). I’ve continued to invest across a broad portfolio of tokens and projects since that time, but remain a Bitcoiner at heart. I am a Certified Bitcoin Professional (C4).


Navigating Regulation: I’ve worked closely with regulators like the SFC and CSRC, including as Responsible Officer at HSBC and Samsung Securities, where I managed client-facing teams and helped to build compliant platforms.


Growing Markets: From launching the Hong Kong-China Stock Connect at HSBC to managing global trading systems and sales teams at Samsung, I’ve driven revenue and client growth across APAC. I have managed revenue channels as large as $80mn and notional value channels in the billions. 


Strategic Leadership: I’ve aligned regional and global priorities while scaling teams, such as during client acquisition for China Connect and QFII at HSBC. I love managing people and building strong team culture. 


Mandarin Skills: 75%-fluent, but exceptional at building trust and relationships with Chinese people. I lived in Shanghai for almost 4 years prior to my MBA, and used my mandarin every day in the small company I started. In my most recent role at HSBC, I travelled to Shanghai, Shenzhen, or Beijing every month as I managed teams in each of those locations. My wife is from Beijing, and children are bilingual.
