AV Platform: Contributed to the development of highly scalable audio-video (AV) platform/infrastructure that powers key Zoho Suite products such as Cliq, Meetings, and Recruit, reliably serving millions of users daily. Media Processing Server: Designed and built a high-performance mediaprocessing service in C and java from the ground up, implementing systems design principles such as queue performance tuning (using backpressure, optimized queue sizes, and watermark-based signaling), graceful service degradation and robust concurrency control. Utilized debugging and profiling tools including Valgrind, AddressSanitizer, and Heaptrack to identify and resolve memory leaks, buffer overflows, and optimize memory usage; enhanced system performance by strategically allocating data on the stack, minimizing heap fragmentation, and improving cache locality—achieving up to 85 percent latency reduction in key components. Developed and optimized all stages of audio-video processing, including multiplexing/demultiplexing and decoding/encoding, working extensively with codecs such as H264/265, VP8/9, AV1, OPUS, and AAC, as well as containers like HLS, MP4, MP3, and WEBM, leveraging the FFmpeg library. Engineered hardware-accelerated transcoding solutions utilizing AMD’s Media Accelerator FPGAs, achieving up to a 3x increase in processing speed and enabling the platform to efficiently scale and handle significantly higher workloads.
