I'm part of the National Doctoral Program in “Blockchain and Distributed Ledger
Technology”, under the research topic ”Social systems and smart societies”, grants from International School
of Advanced Studies in collaboration with LINKS Foundation. I am Silvio Meneguzzo, an early-stage
researcher with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in ICT.
I believe that life, for me, has been a process of continuous evolution. The most integral part of this
growth is curiosity, which drove me to pursue a bachelor’s degree in computer science. My background

provided an insight into various fields of computer science and also helped me to understand my aca-
demic strengths and challenges. During my bachelor’s and master’s degrees, I gained multidisciplinary

skills by doing several course projects on simulation software, artificial intelligence (Image Process-
ing), programming languages (GO, C, C++, Java, PHP, Python), document writing tools (Latex and MS

Word), and project management techniques (Final Year Project Leader during my bachelor’s degree).
Consequently, in my final year project, I led a team of 7 members to implement and deliver the project
to an external company. This project provided me with the opportunity to learn literature review, project
management, information handling and presentation, and research writing, which propelled my interest
and motivation toward research and the union with the industrial world.
During my studies, I found programming challenging, though fascinating, which led me to my second
internship in Infineon Technologies R&D during my master’s degree and a full-time job after six months
as a software developer in a software company called Tradenet. My professional career began during
my bachelor’s degree with 4 months internship in Sopra Steria, located in Milan. There, I learned more

about software development, software design, architecture, and project management. In addition, Infi-
neon Technologies company provided me with an opportunity to diversify my logical reasoning and pro-
gramming skills from integrating third-party software to developing a research project and re-implement

everything in a custom way starting from the creation of a specific Cloud architecture for the Infineon
Jazz project.
My proactive nature and desire to continue my research career made me work on individual projects
which led me to a hybrid job with Tradenet company as a blockchain developer, where I was involved
in developing and optimizing Commercio.Network blockchain, develop new modules, and integrate new
features. During my work, I kept learning innovative techniques and start to approach the blockchain
field. These ventures inspired me to integrate interdisciplinary research fields of blockchain and the
development and validation of innovative applications on this technology. Precisely that’s the reason to
continue my academic and research career by keeping in mind my long-term career plans.
