Co-founded an AI health-tech company that developed the world’s first on-edge camera for real-time fall detection in aged care and disability settings, alerting caregivers within 15 seconds. Solved the critical privacy barrier to adoption: all inference ran on-device (not cloud), meaning no images were transmitted to third parties — enabling installation in sensitive residential environments. Built the company’s proprietary neural network from the ground up using YOLO and custom image recognition frameworks, training models for fall detection, movement patterns, and health indicators (bathroom frequency, coughing, sleep quality) — all before AI became mainstream. Leveraged personal network of aged care contacts (developed through investment advisory) to drive product adoption in a technology-resistant industry dominated by clinical decision-makers. Served as the strategic bridge between CEO and CTO, managing significant personality and operational conflicts between co-founders to maintain a functional executive team. Successfully exited the company with incoming investors at a valuation of $12.5m+ AUD. Post-exit, the loss of this bridging role contributed to the departure of both CEO and CTO, validating the criticality of the function.
