Senior Ux/ Ui Designer And Art Director
WILL LENNON
PRODUCT DESIGNER, UX/UI AND ART DIRECTOR - BARCELONA
CAREER
Making games for a decade and working in design and communications for over two, in that time I've been
able to see what makes games, teams, products and operations work and also what makes them fail. The
difference between the two can often be subtle and difficult to see, and this is where experience built on
good instincts, a good dose of courage and also trial and error comes into play.
I started to become more interested and specialized in UX/UI when I became Creative Director and main
Art Director at Insane Games. Working with games is, above all, thinking about the user's experience,
because after all, the idea is for the player to stay entertained with their game for a long time. Listening to
user feedback to create better products is also something I learned from games and, although obvious, this
mentality is often lacking in companies and projects.
I worked for 5 years creating mobile games and applications at Insane Games/ Insane Media, one of the
most fun periods of my life. I was able to create games for Mobile, Facebook and also for desktop. Our
MultiTouch game "Earth Under Siege" was a hit with downloads in Asia and some Latin American coun-
tries. I was also able to work with Monica's Gang, something like "Disney Mickey Mouse and his friends", but
there in Brazil, making two mobile games, both hits in my country. I grew up reading and watching
Monica's Gang cartoons and it was a great honor for me and my team.
We also created games with football players, such as Neymar Jr and Luis Fabiano, big names in world
football. And I also put together the whole creative team, interviewing and hiring each member, reaching
11 people by my side, when I finally left the company.
Then I went to work with Porto Seguro, at Sciensa consultancy, where I had the biggest budget and tools
for user analysis, such as rooms with double mirrors to see users testing the mockups, several cameras and
the largest amount of UX Research of my life (interviews with users, vendors, stakeholders, etc).
In Spain I worked as Head of Art at Go-Pop up, an ephemeral rental company for projects and events. And
one of his side projects was ShopLive, an application for creating virtual stores and selling products, using
videos and images. A cross between Instagram, with "lives" and Wallapop, with live chats too. And what
started small became a very complex and fun project to create, where I had a lot of freedom to develop and
test, something that worked very well in the development of the project.
And finally I returned to the games industry, working at Kwalee as a UX/UI designer for one of the compa-
ny's new games, Cold Case. A very complex and fun project, but with several challenges.
Now I am ready for a new challenge. For the up and away.
