xdimon
Senior C++ Developer
Systems engineer with 20+ years of professional experience (16+ in C++) building high-performance, production-grade infrastructure — from high-load game backends to distributed blockchain nodes and crypto market data systems.
My core strength is systems-level thinking: I work close to protocol specs, reason carefully about concurrency and failure modes, and treat codebase health as seriously as feature delivery. I don't leave technical debt behind closed doors — if I know something is fragile, I fix it or flag it.
I'm drawn to work where performance is measurable and architecture decisions have real consequences: lower latency, higher throughput, stronger fault tolerance. For nearly six years I owned consensus in Kagome, the C++ Polkadot Host — block production, finality and fork choice on a live network — and I treat lock-free techniques, custom allocators, profiling, flame graphs and sanitisers as standard practice, not as last resort.
I thrive in environments that value depth, ownership, and long-term maintainability. Reliable teammate: if something needs to be done and it's within my reach, it gets done.
Most recently I've been the founding engineer of a crypto trading startup, building an exchange-agnostic market data platform across major centralised exchanges. Open to core blockchain infrastructure roles — node clients, consensus, P2P networking, L1/L2 protocol engineering — where correctness and performance are non-negotiable.

Experience
Senior C++ Developer
Quadrivium 2023 - 2026
Continued work on Kagome as part of the same core team that founded the project at Soramitsu. Kagome is a C++20 implementation of the Polkadot Host, funded by Web3 Foundation grants. Consensus ownership (BABE, GRANDPA, SASSAFRAS): Feature owner for core consensus protocols — responsible for architecture, correctness, cross-client compatibility, and performance within strict per-slot timing budgets. Optimised consensus-adjacent algorithms including best-block selection, block tree pruning, and dispute resolution under malicious validator behaviour. Investigated hard-to-reproduce production and timing issues through custom instrumentation, metrics and distributed log analysis. Kagome's consensus implementation demonstrated resilience during real network incidents — continuing to operate correctly when bugs in other client implementations caused network-wide instability. soralog: Designed and built a high-performance C++ logging library, now adopted in four production projects (Kagome, cpp-libp2p, cpp-jam, qlean-mini). Engineered around a lock-free circular buffer to eliminate I/O spikes and minimise overhead on hot paths — a focused replacement for spdlog with greater runtime flexibility and zero-cost logging where not needed. Additional contributions: cpp-libp2p networking primitives, polkadot-sdk Shadow simulation compatibility, R&D on JAM protocol (Join-Accumulate Machine). Observability: metrics, profiling, flame graphs, incident debugging, and production hardening. qlean-mini: C++ client for Lean Ethereum (post-quantum devnet) — built the initial application framework and storage, block production, block tree & fork choice, state sync client, and Prometheus metrics.
Senior C++ Developer
Soramitsu LABS 2020 - 2023
Joined Kagome as one of the first three engineers when the project was in early stages; the core team later continued independently as Quadrivium LLC. Implemented initial RPC layer and networking primitives in cpp-libp2p. Replaced temporary stubs with production implementations of core consensus protocols — BABE (block production) and GRANDPA (finality) — owning correctness, cross-client compatibility, and performance from the ground up. Participated in debugging complex distributed-system issues under real network conditions, performance analysis, and production stabilisation as the team grew to 7 engineers.
