Web3 Legal Associate, Product Lawyer

About the role:

Amun 21Shares is seeking a Legal Associate-ETP Product Lawyer, EMEA to join our growing Legal team in Zurich or London.

This individual will work closely with our VP Head of Legal, based in Zurich and would join a team of 4 lawyers and 1 Paralegal who are based in our 2 offices in New York and Zurich. This is a fantastic opportunity to get excellent exposure to the highest quality of work and interaction at all levels.

The position is an exciting opportunity to join a growing digital asset firm and work with experienced financial services professionals to develop and expand an exciting range of financial products. This is a financial product focused role working primarily with the ETP Product Team as well as Operations in Zurich and New York.

What you will be doing:

  • Working with the Product Team on the legal and regulatory requirements for the set up and maintenance of our financial products.
  • Responsibility for drafting, amending and maintaining all European ETP product documentation including, prospectuses, final terms, services agreements and listing arrangements.
  • Working with the Capital Markets Team on complying with all necessary listing requirements at national and international exchanges.
  • Providing support in monitoring and advising the business on emerging legal and regulatory changes, risks and opportunities as it relates to exchange traded products and digital assets.
  • Working with outside counsel as appropriate and partnering with compliance and risk teams as necessary.
  • Negotiating, drafting and advising on commercial contracts, including service provider agreements, index licenses, listing agreements, technology agreements, service agreements, distribution agreements, customer contracts, vendor contracts, software licenses, consultancy agreements and marketing agreements.
  • Working directly with internal and external clients in the contract negotiation process including ensuring that sales and the business comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and company policies.
  • Working collaboratively and providing input to new and existing policies and procedures to ensure that any changes to processes are within the permitted legal and regulatory framework.

Requirements:

  • A commercially minded, fully qualified attorney admitted to practice in an EU jurisdiction and/or Switzerland.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ post qualification experience as in-house counsel in the financial industry or in a reputable law firm.
  • Experience in financial services law and regulation, in particular related to exchange traded products (e.g. PRIIPS,MIFID II, Prospectus Regulation, Disclosure and Transparency Rules) and securities laws area.
  • Comfortable in dealing with various commercial law matters, including commercial contract negotiations, drafting and reviewing.
  • Familiar with performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • A high level of understanding of processes, policies and key relationships, with an ability to monitor, design and continuously improve processes.
  • Good knowledge of the wider financial industry.
  • Interest in cryptocurrencies.
