Amazon Managed Blockchain (AMB) is a fully managed service that accelerates customers' ability to create and leverage scalable blockchain technology for current and innovative business use cases across DeFi, NFTs, Payments, Supply Chain, Financial Services, Identity, and more. The Amazon Managed Blockchain team is looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer who is passionate about building new products and has an entrepreneurial approach to building new services for customers. The ideal candidate for this position has a proven track record of delivering outstanding products at scale and is passionate about blockchain, distributed systems, containers, cryptography, distributed ledgers, and cloud scale software. You would be a core part of defining the technical direction and culture of the team moving forward. This is a great opportunity for you to interact directly with customers and influence definition and design in an emerging space.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Work efficiently and routinely deliver the right things with limited guidance.
- Focus on complex, ambiguous problem areas in existing or new software initiatives.
- Take the long term view.
- Consider where each system is at in its lifecycle and where appropriate, proactively fix architecture deficiencies.
- Make existing systems simpler (e.g. by consolidating redundant systems, deleting unnecessary code, or removing/updating out of date documentation).
- Are able to take the lead on large projects that require the work of your team.
- Know how to divide a software project into parallel work that can be performed by you and other Engineers and then reassembled successfully into a cohesive launch.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 4+ years of professional software development experience
· 3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
· 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
· 7+ years professional experience in software development

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working with blockchain frameworks such as Ethereum and the Hyperledger projects
- Very strong Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, data structures, problem solving, and complexity analysis
- Experience designing and building highly-scaled distributed systems and web services
- Thorough understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, asynchronous architectures
- Experience working in an agile software development organization
- Experience in writing smart contracts for blockchain frameworks
- Experience building with SOA using Java on Linux
- Experience in enterprise software or cloud services
- Masters degree in Computer Science
