Web3 Senior Backend Software Engineer

Origins is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team immediately.

What you'll do:

  • You will conceive and design software from the research and development phase through implementation, iteration, deployment, maintenance, and future iterations
  • You will identify improvements on existing systems/workflows for performance, scale, speed, accuracy, and reliability
  • You will collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Business Development, and other Engineers to prioritize, plan, and design new features, tools, and workflows
  • You will work with other Senior Engineers to establish metrics/OKRs and processes for assessing and improving internal systems/workflows, our products, and our collective performance
Who you are:

  • Minimum two years related experience, typical five years experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and performant backend solutions and services
  • Demonstrated expertise in programming with a foundation in computer science and competencies in one or more of the following: cloud and container based distributed systems, data structures and analytics, and scalable architectures
  • B.S./M.S. in CS/SE/EE/CE/related field or equivalent experience
  • Holistic thinker who can focus on specific problems while also taking into account the implications for our APIs, data models, and UI/UX
  • Must be familiar with agile methodologies, such as scrum or kanban
  • Experience as a technical mentor preferred
  • Experience building one or more of unit, integration, functional user acceptance, or contract tests
  • Experience with Docker or other containerization systems
  • Backend programming knowledge should include Python, Go, Java, or similar modern programming languages.
  • Database knowledge should include GraphQL, SQL
  • Comfortable with leading large cross-team initiatives, and collaborating with teams throughout a company
  • A sense of humor and demonstrated ability to have fun
  • Bonus: some degree of familiarity with NFTs and/or the broader crypto ecosystem
