Marathon Digital Holdings is hiring a Web3 Manager of State and Federal Government Affairs

SUMMARY
The Manager of State and Federal Government Affairs will be responsible for interacting with state and federal legislative bodies and government agencies, as well as Marathon’s outside lobbyists, trade associations, and other industry leaders, to represent and protect Marathon’s business plans and interests in the Bitcoin and mining sector.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Work with the head of public policy to enhance Marathon’s vision, specific principles, and strategies at the state and federal levels; help execute to achieve short and long-term objectives.
- Monitor and anticipate changes in the Bitcoin and Bitcoin mining policy environment at the state and federal levels; develop financial impact assessments for key legislation and regulatory changes in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Utilize data analytics and modeling skills to analyze policy trends and their potential impact on the business.
- Perform research and develop industry-leading data and information to educate state and federal policymakers on Bitcoin and Bitcoin mining.
- Proactively pitch and create content to facilitate educational efforts to inform state and federal policymakers and the public about Bitcoin and Bitcoin mining.
- Maintain and nurture strategic bipartisan relationships with state and federal government officials and their staff.
- Develop strong business relationships with senior management and provide timely updates on critical policy issues that impact business objectives at the state and federal levels.
- Help develop and advise on political giving strategy at the state and federal levels.
- Grow and maintain diverse coalitions in support of policy issues and business priorities at the state and federal levels.
- Collaborate with local grassroots and industry advocates to build areas of common interest in Bitcoin and Bitcoin mining.
- Assist with preparing Marathon executives for appearances before state and federal government committees and agencies in support of Marathon and the Bitcoin mining industry.
- Help develop legislative and public policy changes at the state and federal levels that will support company operations in the Bitcoin and mining sector.
- Partner with legal counsel to ensure compliance on regulatory matters and in drafting comments during the rulemaking process at the state and federal levels.

- Expertise in Bitcoin and Bitcoin mining, with a passion for involvement in the sector.

- Display a deep understanding and experience with public policy issues in energy and technology at the state and federal levels, especially as they relate to Bitcoin and Bitcoin mining.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree is required. A Master's degree or a Juris Doctor is preferred.
- At least 7 years of professional experience in advocacy or public policy with strong government contacts at the state and federal levels.
- Experience working with legislative, executive, and regulatory government officials at the state and federal levels.
- Proven experience in data analytics, modeling, and Excel.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications.
