Compensation: $58k - $65k estimated

The Site Reliability Engineer will be a key member of the Asset Reliability Engineering team, focused on scaling and supporting asset nodes and observability platforms across Coinbase’s technology stack. You will be working with our Infrastructure, Crypto Engineering, Security, Application and Data engineering teams. Your experience in backend infrastructure, observability, logging, metrics, and incident response will be critical in this role to help Coinbase scale.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Improve the infrastructure and monitoring systems to provide visibility regarding the “health” of assets on Coinbase platforms
- Ensure the reliability of node, network upgrade and operational maintenance of assets
- Develop tooling and automated solutions in support of asset reliability
- Instrument and integrate observability practice: monitoring and alerting into our asset Infrastructure
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve performance, reliability and scalability issues
- Participate in incident reviews to create improved alerts for detection and potential proactive mitigation
What We’re Looking For:
- 6+ years experience running high availability systems and supporting distributed infrastructure.
- Experience with open-source monitoring tools such as DataDog, Graphite, Grafana, Prometheus etc
- Experience with programming languages such as Go, Ruby or Python
- Expert understanding of Linux systems, high and low level.
- You are passionate about solving hard problems using data-driven solutions
- You act like an owner and strive to do work you're proud of, both technically and in your team interactions
- Great oral and written communication skills
