Sr. Back End Engineer Web3 - Tally

About the Role:

Tally is looking for a senior backend engineer, who is passionate about user-owned open source products, to work on a web3 wallet launching later in 2021. As a crypto-curious engineer, you’ll be excited to apply blockchain and cryptocurrency solutions to unique and mainstream challenges in web3. As a senior engineer who has mastered Python-centered web technologies, you will collaborate with a team of engineers and designers with expertise spanning the end-to-end needs of the product. As one of the owners of the technical architecture, you will partner with the cross-functional team to find innovative and practical solutions for design and product challenges. You are passionate about helping us develop a web3 wallet that meets both our exceptional community needs and business goals. As a member of a remote team, you should have excellent written communication skills and are a self-starter.

Thesis* is the studio behind Fold, Keep, tBTC, Saddle, and Tally. We’re a fun, down-to-earth, fast-paced, highly collaborative, and fully remote team.

What You’ll Do:

• Help support our cross-functional team by sharing your experience and methodologies
• Manage, plan, size, and scale backlog
• Partner with the lead designers on UX design and the product roadmap
• Architect the web applications, mobile applications, transactional system, 3rd party integrations, internal tools, and all other systems required for the operations of the product
• Streamline deployment procedures, including post-deploy monitoring and automated rollbacks
• Expect to spend 50% of your time coding and 50% supporting your engineering teammates in system uptime and reliability

Required Experience:

• You have 5+ years of experience architecting and launching consumer-focused and/or enterprise-focused products
• You are an expert in best practices for product development across various methodologies, including Agile, and Lean UX
• You are confident and comfortable working collaboratively with product management and design
• You have the ability and empathy to mentor other developers to deliver great work; you value and cultivate open communication
• Experience as a full-stack engineer

Ideally, You’ll Have:

• 2+ years active in the crypto ecosystem, DeFi a plus
• Previous experience with e-commerce and/or payments products
• Knowledgeable and passionate about blockchain and cryptocurrency
• Participatory knowledge of the past year of fair launch DeFi protocols - Yearn, SushiSwap, Harvest, Yam, etc.

All Tally roles are remote first, with a preference for Europe & Americas time zones.
