Web3 Unity 3D Client Engineer

ZTX is a web3 metaverse initiative jointly incubated by ZEPETO — a global leader in 3D metaverse with over 400 million users and over 3 million daily transactions of virtual items — and leading global blockchain organizations including Jump Crypto.

Building with mass adoption in mind, we are creating a 3D open world with varying levels of gamification integrated as well as opportunities for users to monetize via ownership of digital assets and social interaction. Our goal is to empower creators and communities to build, play, and earn — a world where users of all backgrounds can chart their journeys into a world beyond the physical.

We are looking for a passionate top-class Unity engineer who can help bring our vision into reality. If you know all the details of how Unity works, believe 3D rendering technology will play a critical role in the metaverse experience in the next decade and want to seize the opportunity of building what could possibly become one of the largest crypto-centric metaverse platforms in the world, we look forward to hearing from you!

What you will be doing:

• Collaborate with designers, producers, and engineers to define requirements and implement our open-world metaverse experiences.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that meets project objectives.
• Develop and integrate blockchain-based features into the game, such as NFTs, wallets, and smart contracts.
• Contribute testing best practices to the team in order to implement sustainable software practices.
• Provide excellent asynchronous communications, such as writing and demo videos, to keep the team updated on progress and decisions across time zones.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and specifications for the client-side software.
• Participate in art production discussions that require Unity-specific development or performance considerations.
• Partner with SRE to ensure smooth deployment of Unity applications in production.

What we look for in you:

• 7+ years of game client development.
• 5+ years of experience in Unity 3D game development.
• Good knowledge of 3D game development principles, including physics, animation, and/or asset optimization.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote team environment across multiple time zones.
• Experience with integrating blockchain technologies into Unity.
• Experience with CI/CD strategies for Unity applications.
• Experience with developing multiplayer games, and integrating with backend systems.
• Passion for building an open metaverse platform that onboards millions of web2 users to web3!

Bonus point if:

• You’re familiar with WebGL.
• You’re familiar with the crypto ecosystem (DeFi, NFTs, identity, staking, or more).
• You've worked in a startup environment.
• You speak and write in Korean.
