Policy Head - Remote Friendly | Anonym

Anonym is seeking a policy expert with experience analyzing policy trends, developing policy proposals, and drafting issue papers to lead our Policy and Privacy team. The policy team will help with regulation and privacy policy in support of Anonym’s mission to transform digital advertising into a system that both protects a person’s privacy and data while still enabling a healthy advertising ecosystem.

The ideal candidate for this role has knowledge of trends and emerging issues in data privacy in many different regulatory arenas including US federal laws, EU, and individual state regulations. They should have experience analyzing policy research and legislation, and drafting analyses and position papers for internal and external audiences, including industry groups, policymakers, and regulators. In addition, they should have good instincts about effective ways to present policy proposals and the ability to develop creative approaches to policy challenges.

Policy Leader Responsibilities:

• Track policy and legislative trends related to privacy and data use and share insights with internal partners to help guide development of products and policies
• Gather and develop external research to help develop and support Anonym’s privacy positions on legislative and regulatory issues
• Create policy position papers for internal and external audiences on a range of privacy regulatory matters
• Develop content for global audiences to promote Anonym’s privacy positions
• Work closely with global organizations (privacy advocates, regulators, industry groups, technologists) across privacy matters
• Represent Anonym at policy meetings and public-facing events

The ideal candidate has:

• Bachelor's degree
• 5+ years of experience working in policy research and advocacy on privacy and data security
• Knowledge of privacy policy issues and trends, particularly related to encryption, surveillance, and internet advertising
• Experience analyzing and drafting legislation, and writing short- and long-form educational materials and talking points
• Experience navigating dynamic work environments and prioritizing multiple simultaneous projects
• Deeply familiar with policy counseling
• Meaningful understanding of privacy and Internet technologies

Nice to Have:

• Master’s Degree, JD, or other advanced degree
• Expertise and understanding on various privacy regulation including GDPR, ADPPA, CCPA, DSA, DMA
• Experience tracking and engaging on legislation in different regions around the world, and collaborating with local stakeholders
• Proven relevant relationships with key stakeholders in civil society, academia, industry, and government
