About Careem Pay

Careem Pay’s vision is to be the leading digital financial services platform of the region. It’s purpose is to empower people to lead better lives by simplifying their payment experiences and access to financial services.

As a key member of the Careem Pay team, you will define Careem’s strategy and product roadmap in the blockchain and digital-currency space. This roadmap should support both Careem Pay and the broader set of Careem businesses to make everyday life simpler for our consumers, captains and merchants by embedding progressive technologies into our products and services.

What you'll do

  • Build a view on how Careem can leverage blockchain/crypto to accelerate its journey based on external research and understanding of Careem's vision and ecosystem
  • Identify and prioritize initiatives based on expected impact on Careem's stakeholders (customers, captains, partners)
  • Develop the case for these capabilities and drive leadership alignment on them
  • Develop a view on how to build, buy, or partner to implement the defined strategy
  • Mobilize and oversee the implementation of these initiatives, extraction of learnings from them, and iterating them to PMF
  • Represent this topic internally and externally as the resident expert

What you'll need

  • Domain expertise and/or work experience in blockchain, decentralised finance, and digital currencies/tokens
  • 5-10 years of functional work experience in strategy development or product management -- requirement would in part be driven by time spent in the crypto space
  • Ability to drive cross-functional and cross-vertical project management and alignment
  • Proven ability to self-start with limited upfront information and problem-definition
  • Comfortable with continuous engagement with C-level and Senior Leadership while also owning the details
