Pace Gallery

Pace Gallery is a leading international art gallery representing some of the most influential contemporary artists and estates from the past century. Since its founding by Arne Glimcher in 1960, Pace has developed a distinguished legacy as an artist-first gallery that mounts seminal historical and contemporary exhibitions. Under the current leadership of President and CEO Marc Glimcher, Pace continues to support its artists and share their visionary work with audiences worldwide by remaining at the forefront of innovation. Today, Pace has ten locations worldwide including London, Geneva, a strong foothold in Palo Alto, two galleries in New York and our newest location in Los Angeles. Pace was one of the first international galleries to establish outposts in Asia where it operates permanent spaces in Hong Kong and Seoul.

Pace Verso is Pace Gallery’s web3 hub. We produce boundary-pushing, blockchain-backed projects by artists from within and beyond the Pace Gallery program. Pace Verso launched in November 2021 and since then has produced projects by Jeff Koons, Loie Hollowell, teamLab, Studio Drift, Tara Donovan, John Gerrard, Glenn Kaino, and more.

Pace Verso functions as a “start-up” within an established parent company. We have a fast-paced, growth-oriented culture, where team members at all levels work nimbly and are unafraid to roll up their sleeves. We also partner closely with our colleagues across the gallery’s departments and global hubs, for support in growing our community, building our client base, and most importantly supporting our artists.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • The Project Producer works closely with the Head of Pace Verso to oversee select Pace Verso projects end-to-end. This includes:
  • Shepherding artists through the exploratory phase of project development as they meet with potential technical teams and define their Verso project
  • Working with the Pace legal team to develop contracts with selected technical team and artist, once project parameters have been defined
  • Participating in all project development meetings (e.g., weekly engineering check-ins, marketing strategy calls, etc.) and representing "the Pace Verso perspective" in these conversations as well as taking notes, tracking key action items, maintaining consistent progress towards overall timeline, and escalating roadblocks to other members of the team as they arise
  • Coordinating with the marketing team as projects prepare for launch, and ensuring each project has a thorough marketing plan. Assisting with execution on occasion
  • Beyond project management, the Producer is expected to bring a "strategic eye" to projects -- spotting opportunities and working with the team to execute them to ensure that the key goals for Verso and for the project are achieved
  • The Producer will work directly with a wide array of stakeholders -- the Verso team, Pace Gallery artists, Pace Gallery dealer teams, Pace Gallery finance and legal teams, and on occasion, marketing-related stakeholders like influencers and community members, to execute projects end-to-end
  • The Producer will be responsible for balancing multiple projects at different stages of development at the same time

What You’ll Bring:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a role requiring significant project management skills, particularly in which the candidate has worked independently on complex projects
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Track record for completing projects on time, on budget, and with desired results
  • Ability to act nimbly in solving new problems and learning new content, given the rapid pace of change in web3
  • Experience working with, and project managing, diverse stakeholders towards a shared goal -- for example, engineers, artists, and marketing teams
  • Strong communication skills - as the only "eyes and ears" on their projects, the candidate must know when and how to elevate issues that arise
  • Experience working in galleries, directly with artists or in a creative agency is a plus
  • Experience working in tech and/or directly with engineers is a plus
  • Experience working in web3 or participating personally in web3 is a plus
