Spring Labs is currently looking for a highly talented Smart Contract Engineer, who is motivated by finding creative solutions to complex issues, to join our team of 20+ engineers. This role will help lead SpringLabs Blockchain initiative with new products in the DeFi landscape.

Spring Labs is a highly collaborative, fast paced, start-up environment, therefore this role requires strong communication and collaboration skills, the ability to conceptualize and be accountable for quality results, as well as the proven ability to mentor and develop Jr. Engineers to the next level.

Our technologies include distributed and decentralized systems, sophisticated cryptography, and machine learning pipelines. This role is for an experienced software engineer who wants to spend their time in hands-on implementation, architecture, and mentorship.

What you'll do

• Design and implement smart contracts on Ethereum, powering the next generation of DeFi platform
• Work closely with our product and design teams to create additional products and features
• Collaborate with other engineers to implement robust, reusable, and maintainable code to support and grow our products
• Help define and enforce standards regarding code quality and test coverage
• Collaborate with Tooling, QA, and Infrastructure teams to improve our CI, testing, deployment, and monitoring practices
• Mentor junior and mid-level software engineers in best practices
• Participate and lead code reviews, documentation, and technical discussions to contribute to knowledge sharing and provide mentorship
• Be a culture carrier for Spring Labs

About you

• 7+ years of hands-on software development experience
• 2+ years of smart contract development on Ethereum
• Good understanding of the public Blockchain and DeFi ecosystem
• You care about disciplined coding practices, including writing technical specifications, internal and external documentation, peer code review, and unit & integration testing
• You’re passionate about learning and knowledge sharing
• Experience designing and building products or major features from concept to launch
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure practices and tools (AWS experience a plus)
• Deep familiarity with industry standard design patterns
• Expertise with several programming languages/paradigms (Python a plus)
• Previous experience in FinTech, including fraud, payments and credit a plus
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
