Web3 Application Engineer - Payments

The Solana Labs Payments team is looking to transform the entire payments and commerce ecosystem by building a new payments stack that leverages the speed, scalability and low cost of the Solana blockchain. To be successful in this role,

You will:

• Design and implement scalable web services, applications, and APIs to enable payment processing infrastructure and products
• Design and deploy technical cloud architecture for consumer and B2B payments applications
• Design and implement high-volume, low-latency, distributed transaction processing systems, making thoughtful tradeoffs between consistency and availability when both are not possible
• Ensure efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with appropriate security policies and best practices in cloud security
• Build systems that manage customers’ sensitive data and maintain the highest standards for security and compliance
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and best practices

You have:

• 5+ years experience building full-stack applications
• Proficiency in backend with Node.js, Rust, Golang, and/or Python
• Experience building scalable high volume payments applications using cloud services such as GCP or AWS
• Experience building payments processing solutions and end products and familiarity with card networks and merchant processing solutions
• Knowledge or experience in building scalable and performant web services for complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers at scale
• Proficiency in building easy to use, robust, and concise RESTful APIs
• Experience designing and deploying CI/CD pipelines
• Experience shipping high-quality products from start to finish
• Experience writing documentation and tests for your code and others
• Attention to detail, especially around performance, reliability, and security

Bonus (but not necessary) if you have experience with:

• Native mobile development (Swift, Kotlin, Flutter, React Native, etc.)
• Wallets, financial software
• Ethereum, Solidity
• Cryptography
• Rust
