Web3 COO, Ecosystem Team

As a part of the ecosystem team at Protocol Labs, you’ll have an outsized impact on the entire organization by working on key initiatives across multiple areas, including business development, marketing, recruiting, operations, and special projects. In this role, you will work closely with Protocol Labs’ leadership to structure and solve complex problems, then drive solutions forward across the organization.

As a COO, Ecosystem Team, you will be tasked with:

• As background, the Ecosystem team oversees the growth of Filecoin, IPFS and the libp2p protocols - including growing the number of high quality applications and developers building on the protocols, growing the number of clients storing data and data centers providing storage capacity, marketing and community engagement, and investing in the ecosystem.
• You will build and oversee the supporting teams of the group, including legal, finance, HR, recruiting, IT, company structure, etc.
• You will drive goal setting, OKRs, and develop systems to track and analyze metrics for each of the different teams and efforts
• You will define and lead strategic initiatives within the Ecosystem team to expand the reach of Filecoin, IPFS, and libp2p2 - collaborating closely with other leads
• You will drive strategic direction of Ecosystem Working Group, and oversee the team’s day-to-day operation and ensure consistent, rapid, and effective execution according to the defined vision and strategy
• You will help motivate and lead large cross-functional teams by example, even when challenges are extremely complex and solutions are unclear
• You will drive alignment from key internal stakeholders to support strategic decisions
• You will proactively identify opportunities to improve and optimize current processes
• Manage high priority business projects from conception through successful execution, collaborating with cross-functional internal team members

You may be a fit for this role if you…

• Can lead operational processes, build teams, and coach various leads in your sleep
• Have 5+ years experience leading operations or COO of a growing startup, including senior leadership experience, and working with a cohesive cross-functional leadership team
• At least 5 years experience as a VP of Operations, Director of Operations, COO or other similar management position in a startup
• Strong passion for and understanding of blockchain ecosystems
• MBA or previous work experience with a high-growth technology company
• Excellent EQ that understands how to bring strong perspectives together for a common outcome in a positive way
• Exceptional leadership skills in a fast-paced start-up environment
• Able to comfortably dive into any area of the business, understand business needs, and facilitate decisions
• Experience in building blockchain/open-source developer ecosystems
