Reserve is hiring a Web3 Director of Engineering (Protocol)
Compensation: $63k - $75k estimated
Location: CA San Francisco US
About Reserve:
We believe access to stable money is a human right. Almost two billion people around the world don't have a safe place to store their money or are excluded from financial services such as payments and credit. Struggles with inflationary currencies prevent families and communities from building basic economic security. To help solve this, we currently offer financial services in high inflation economies so that everyone can protect the value of their money. Our app users in Latin America can easily save and spend in US dollars, without worrying about their money devaluing overnight.
That said, we're not a bank. Reserve is a new way to store and move money, creating new saving and spending experiences beyond borders. We are actively expanding to new regions, and would love to explore if you could be a fit for our team! More information on our mission and the people behind it can be found here. Please note that this role supports the Protocol side of our business, not the application side of the business.
Role Summary:
We are looking for a seasoned engineering leader to direct our small, but growing, protocol engineering team. You will work closely with product and engineering leadership to scope and execute projects across multiple teams. You will help build process, prioritize, and continuously improve team dynamics while also growing the team from a recruiting standpoint. You'd be working with oracles, on-chain auctions, and governance alongside engineers with experience deploying smart contracts. We also need to follow the quickly developing Ethereum layer two / side-chain space and make a key choice about which one to support in our consumer app.
Requirements:
- You are a seasoned engineering leader, preferably with a Web3/Defi background.
- You reliably accomplish impressive amounts of progress on what really matters, whether it's problem solving, implementing, educating, evaluating new team members, etc.
- You've honed your ability to self-manage, so that when you take on relatively abstract projects you turn them into concrete, sensible plans and bring them to completion.
- You prefer the startup life of challenges, uncertainty, invention, chaos, impact, responsibility, and autonomy.
- You are kind, conscientious, thoughtful, and communicative.
- You have a vested interest in advancing Reserve's vision of financial inclusion for all.
- Solidity experience.
- Spanish fluency (A large part of our team is based in South America)
- Compensation: Competitive salary + token grant.
- Location: Work remotely from anywhere, but expect to be online for US working hours.
- Stability: We have significant funding and a long financial runway.
- Purpose: Reserve helps people beat hyperinflation, and aims to eradicate it entirely.
