Web3 Engineering Manager

Responsible for ensuring that key projects and engineering duties are fulfilled, the Engineering Manager is in a unique position to understand the dynamic of the team, how it constantly evolves over time with new hires, changes in team structures, and varying degrees of pressure. The EM will manage a dedicated team of passionate engineers working tirelessly to advance blockchain technology.

As an active member of the team they bring a keen technical eye and high EQ which further enhances their positive impacts on the project. The EM is the interface between strategy and delivery and will be working with the leadership team and the product teams, translating directives to their team as actionable tasks and deliverables. You will ensure your team delivers impactful projects, aligned with Symbiont's goals and focus areas. You will grow your team through participation in hiring and personal development of your reports and contribute to a culture of high-reliability delivery.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely execution of requirements
• Support engineers in their career development by providing clear feedback and develop engineering leaders.
• Assist in the design and administration of training / staff development programs for their team
• Recruit, interview and manage individual contributors for their team
• Participate in the creation of pull requests, peer reviews, specifications and proposals as needed
• Encourage, facilitate and guide the development of best practices, patterns and procedures for their team

Key Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience leading a cross functional team of software engineers
• 2+ years of professional experience managing individual contributors in a remote environment
• Practical experience designing, coding and deploying software based solutions
• Prior professional experience architecting, documenting and executing software development projects in a team environment

Desired Attributes

• Prior experience with in developing with languages and technologies such as Golang, Rust, TypeScript, Haskell etc
